5 documentaries significants that I watched in 2016

I am launching a serie of texts in this final part of year, revealing to you things that had meaning in my life this year. It will be like a revision about representative happenings. Thus, in this first text I would like to talk about meaningful documentaries that I watched during this year, and that changed something in my form to think. Similarly, during the next weeks unto the final of the year, I am going to present movies, series, musics, books and happenings that changed something in my life.
First of all, who knows me is conscious about how much time I spent every week watching something on TV. However, some people imagine that I spend a lot of time watching only movies and series. Although I have spent really less time watching documentary, I still have spent time learning and reflecting about different matters in documentaries. Then, I present the five most relevant documentaries I watched in 2016.


1-  THE MASK YOU LIVE IN (2015):

I already commented about this documentary, nonetheless I am listing here because is important as a form to understand why are men as they are. In this film we can reflect the fact that the men are developed to be as they are. Unfortunately, many men can not be naturally themselves, because the society wants them be hard, dominants, aggressive, and avoiding to be sissy. 2- THE BIBLE (2013):

This is a series in 10 chapters about the Christian Bible, of course. As a lover of this book, I can not pass a year without watching anything about it. Surely, this is a good production, about the entire story, since the creation unto the resurrection of Jesus with good fidelity. Every day, the Bible has changed something within my life, then, this documentary helped in the duty this year.


3- LAST CHANCE U (2016):

Last chance University is about dreams. Furthermore, it is about glee, frustration, overcomes, hard work, sadness, pain, victory, and much more. The true happenings presented remember a lot our young people here in Brasil. The difference is that young americans are dreaming with success through american football, on the other hand, Brazilians are dreaming exactly the same form, but through soccer. Moreover, I believe to be important to reflect as the school is important for american students inside the educational system, even for athletes, and not only be good players. It is clear that be a good athlete in USA is a jump to a better future. Even more, the study is also very important, and who do not have good grades rarely will receive an opportunity in the university. Thus, this is a good documentary to help reflecting about how to overcome in life, searching to achieve better goals.


4- GRASS: A HISTORY OF MARIJUANA (1999):

Considering that I did not use marijuana before, and that I do not pretend to use, even so I loved this documentary. Although many preconcepts against the users, as well as many laws in different countries, I really believe that information is the most important content when you can not respond your ideas with good arguments. As I said before, I do not want to consume marijuana, but I have changed my thought a lot after to watch this documentary. The production shows many motives to use it, as well as legalize it. Therefore, I would not like to do a campaign in favor of the users, however this documentary explained many doubts that I had.


5- MAKING A MURDERER (2015):














I have here another documentary-series that I talked about before. Nonetheless, I need to put it here again, because it caused some changes in my form to think about guilty or innocence. This real case of criminal innocence or guilt, involving trials and many consequences will take you for several hours, changing your opinion the whole time. Thus, this is my list of the five important documentaries that I watched this year. If you did not watch before, I recommend to you. Before wrap up this text I also would like to recommend "Tales by light (2016)" about photograph and the cultural impact, as well as "Pimp City: a journey into the center of the sex trade (2014)" about the sex traffic in USA. A letter for my daughter

Dear daughter,

It is difficult to begin this text, because I have much to talk to you. You know that you are my princess since the beginning. Yes, you know. Even though, I comprehend that sometimes I can not deliver to you all of necessary. I am trying. However, during this time being your dad, I found out as tough is to be a father. I would like to be a perfect father for you. As you deserve. Yes, you deserve so much. If I could to reach, I could deliver the stars to you. Or even a piece of any dream you have. Unfortunately I can not. I only know that be a father is the toughest thing I ever imagined. Despite it, I also know that be your father is the sweetest thing in this world. Furthermore, you are that piece of perfection that lacked in my life unto your birth. I love you and I love even more the opportunity to be your father.

I feel bad for the times that I was rough with you. I know that almost all the time the intention was to educate and prepare you for the right circumstances. Even that, you are a precious flower, and a flower needs a delicate treatment. I am always willing to do the best for you. Perhaps God will bless me as a better father. Day by day I will hope it. Yes, I want it. Oh God, deliver to me the wisdom and the skills to be the father that my daughter deserves.

I even know that in life you will need to struggle with difficult situations and times. Despite during these tough times I might not be always with you in presence, nonetheless I want to be within your heart helping you. Learn to hear your heart, because I will be there for you. The love has no borders. I can transpose all the barriers, because I am your dad, and as a superhero I have this power to be with you forever. Hear me and be with me, because I love you and the love is the biggest force ever in this universe. 

Never allow other man or woman say to you that you are less than you are. Listen to me now, because you are the most precious thing that God ever created. Moreover, you were the best creature that God did, and you are the most impressive child that I ever saw, and you will be the most special woman that this world will ever see. I believe it, because I know you. I believe it, because I love you. 

Oh my darling. Oh my little darling…

There are many things to teach you. On the other hand, there are many things to learn from you too. I rely on you, and I believe that one of my duties is to show you how to have dignity. Remember always that you need other people in this life, as well as you need to respect, to fight for the truth and be zealous with the righteousness. Never lie, never hate and never tread under the others. Fight always for what you believe, and know that I am here to be your soldier in every battle. I am grateful with the time beside you. See your smile everyday worth more than all the money of the world. Feel your happiness is more than a wish. It is a reality that I want to grant. I want to be your friend, your support, your security, your dad, and the whole role you need that I assume. 

Therefore, I will always be your father. During the happiness and the darkness. If you be happy, I want be glee with you. If you wish something, I will have all effort to reach it for you. Even when you have difficulties and have sad time with some problems, I want to alleviate and assume the entire pain supporting you. Now know it. These three moments will happen in your life; happiness, wishes and sadness. Although it, be prepared and do not have fear. Be sure, I know that you can fight against anything in life, and I always will be there for you, because I love you.

Are they employees or consumers?

Who is the most important, the consumer or the employee? Sincerely, I believe to be the employee who is treated as consumer. In my point of view, when the company understands that it is necessary to treat the employees firstly as consumer, for only after that treat them as clerk, the constitution of this enterprise will be effectively better.
When a company has the relationship with the employees like consumers, this company treats these people as the most important patrimony, because it is possible realize that it is essential invest efforts to construct employees relying on the company, putting energy to build a solid company, and most important, liking and using constantly the products of the company. Moreover, it is important perceive the clerk believing in the company and the brand. When this is what is happening, it is possible to have more compromise and application. Although it is not possible to emphasize that employees working within a company as part of this company will work better and more motivated, it is possible to feel that these employees will be blissful and satisfied with the company and the products.
Meanwhile, the employees that only work inside a company where they do not believe to be part of it, but only a piece of the machine, seems to be less involved with the company. They do not have the motivation to struggle with the company in good and bad moments, because for them, they are only clerk within it. They are not part of the company, or part of the family, or still part of the brand. Otherwise, the feeling of this sort of employee is that it is not necessary to do more than what is described in the function that they carried out. Thus, when the clerk work only to carry out the tasks they are feeling less integrated than when the company shows and treats them as an important part of the family.
On the other hand, the companies that have treated the employees firstly as consumer know that they are using the goods and services that the company has done. Why is this important? Because these people talk about what they believe. Moreover, they work believing in what they are doing. Furthermore, they have more motivation and strengths doing what they do. Therefore, it is as they have more compromise with the company and with the function that they are carrying out.
In conclusion, it is clear that what have done a company survive and grow is their consumers, but when these companies have treated the employees as consumers, they are not only increasing the amount of the consumers buying the products and services of the company, but still enlarging the efforts and effectiveness of the company, in function of the better efforts of their employees, because they are feeling part of the company and not only a piece of the process.

Top 20 from Netflix

Fortunately we have Netflix. If you are like me, and love to watch mainly series, I am sure, you have been enjoying Netflix. Usually, I have been watching a big deal of series on Netflix, and I would like to share with you my list with top 20 series from Netflix. Two things need to be comprehended: I am considering the options from Netflix Brasil, which can be different from other countries, and I am not considering series out of Netflix. Then of course that I love "Game of Thrones" for example, but it is not considered because it is not part of the Netflix series.

1- BREAKING BAD:

Surprisingly since the beginning unto the end. The plot is brainy, the characters are perfect and you need to be prepared to ride on a roller coaster of emotions. This is that kind of story you will love to support the villain. Or will be he a hero?

2- DEXTER:

With Dexter - a man who investigates crimes during the day and is a murderer during the night - you will be on the edge of the couch. Factly, this is that type of series you can not halt watching, and when the seasons end up, you will wish to watch even more. Another villain-hero to fall in love.

3- PRISION BREAK:

When you perceive the plot is about a guy that go to prison with the map of there tattooed hidden on back to try flee from there with his brother arrested innocently, you can not await other thing that not a fantastic series, mainly in the two first seasons. A new emotion each episode. 

4- ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK:

Do you want to live inside a prison for women? Like the song from the beginning say, "the cage is full and you've got time". With characters sharing different stories, a lot of conflicts and adventurous situations, this is a series better than you think in one first moment. Maybe scenes with lesbian sex can disturb some people, but not stronger than the amazing plot. Worth to try out. 

5- VIKINGS: 

Based on real facts from the past about the Vikings, this series is absolutely awesome. Although many violent scenes - normal between Viking civilization -  you have the chance to be acquainted with part of the history, and appreciate some hours with a strong, amazing and unmissable creation. Worth each hour in front of the TV. Other opportunity to be on the edge of the couch.

6- HOMELAND:

 

The first time that I watched this series, I absolutely freaked out. Impossible do not fall in love at the first sight with this actual issue, talking about terrorism. Moreover, each chapter wrapped up create in you a necessity to watch the next instantaneously. Each episode you will change the mind about the happenings. Hero or villain?! This question will persecute you still unto the end.

7- SECRETS AND LIES:

Despite some people do not know, this series is a surprisingly treasure. You can find a good suspense with incredible surprises, and a wit plot. One more time, your opinion can change, because the story about the death of one boy is a mysterious puzzle. Who killed him? 

8- THE RETURNED:

 

Although this series will not continue, and we need to be satisfied with only the first season, the matter is fantastic. It is about dead people returning to life. By the way, they do not return like zombies but normal human beings, what have done this story greatly exciting. What would you do if one dead relative come back to life 30 years after with the same age and body? Incredible, intriguing and mysterious.

9- WALKING DEAD:

What can I talk about Walking Dead? One of more successful series of all times, seems to have something to transform each fan in one addict. In fact, if you like stories with apocalyptic scenario, this is an unmissable chance of awesome entertainment. Struggle with them to survive!

10- BATES MOTEL:

 

Aside from the fact that this series is based on the movie "Psycho", most precisely talking about the beginning of the story, and that envolves a lot of familiar drama, you can be surprise with the power of envolvement when you are watching it. Take care: are you sure, do you want to be a guest from Bates family?

11- NARCOS:

The expectation is high awaiting the second season from this series. Telling the story from Pablo Escobar's life, you will be intrigued with the power that this man had. He was a national hero for the population in Colombia, still being a drug dealer and doing narcoterrorism. Worth the time spent it. 

12- HOUSE OF CARDS:

Unless politic is something unsupportable to you, you will find a great series. This story reveal the black side of the House of Representatives in USA. Furthermore, the story is centered in one character arrogant, abusive, egocentric, cruel, cold and manipulative, struggling to be President of the United States. The series, by the way, seems a lot with our reality in Brasil. Likely it is the reason of the success of this series here. Worth to note: I hate politics but I love this series.

13- GOTHAM:

 

Do you love stories from super heroes? Well, this is not a story from super hero, but the beginning of the Batman's life (Bruce Wayne). Surprisingly, he is not the center of the happenings in Gotham City, but an investigator working in  criminal cases throughout the city. You find The Penguin, The Riddler, Poison Ivy ,The Cat-woman, Two-face, The Scarecrow, Mr.Freeze and others. A different sight for the story. Interesting... 

14- THE DIVIDE:

If you liked to watch "Making a Murderer" - this is a real and unmissable series to watch too - you will be enchanted with this story. A man receive lethal injection on prison, and after his death, the truth about his innocence appear, and a lot of mysteries and involved facts are developed. Undoubtedly this is one story that worth to watch, even being very unknown from big part of the public.

15- REVENGE:

What talk about this plot? The entire story was well architected. Although seems an exaggerated number of chapters to watch a woman revenging the ambush with her father, in each new chapter you will fall in love more with this plot and the main character. Do you want to project your rage? Then, enjoy watching this series.

16- BETTER CALL SAUL:

At the beginning I thought be unworthy to watch this series, then I decided to try out. It is even better call Saul, because he is the man. You can meet with this man, smart, fun, meticulous and brave lawyer in front of your TV, trying numerous forms to earn money and growing up in career. If you are needing an attorney, it is really Better Call Saul, or not? 

17- HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER:

Following this line of lawyers, I would like to emphasize a spectacular and remarkable sequence of happenings within this series. It is curious like they blend mystery, drama and intelligent sequence here. If you like trials and an adventurous story mixed with surprising events, this series is unmissable for you. What is more important, the truth or protect yourself?

18- HEMLOCK GROVE:

This is an odd story. Some people love it and other hate it. I know that some of you will hate it here. How does he put Hemlock Grove on Top 20? I do not know, but I have some bond with this series. I was not putting it here, but I can not avoid it. Worth to be 18th for me.

19- SONS OF ANARCHY:

Like the name is saying, this story is about some outlaw people, driving motorcycles and selling guns and other illegal substances. Would you like to be an eagle and fly free? Without rules and with your own desires? This series is for you. Furthermore, it is impossible do not go deep within this plot. Another roller coaster of emotions.

20- RESURRECTION:

I always feel up to watch good stories. Undoubtedly this is one more chance. Another story with that plot which has people returning from death. The first season is spectacular. I confess that I was frustrated with the final of the second one. Even so, worth to be watched. You will have a great time with a good entertainment, and even the strange parts can be interesting. 

OTHER VALUABLE STORIES:

Of course that it is impossible to please all. I confess that it was difficult to choose these 20. There are many other good possibilities on Netflix. If you like odd and mysterious things you have: Sense 8, American Horror Story, The Lizzie Borden Chronicles, and Bitten. If you prefer to watch the most famous you have: Lost, Criminal Minds, Bones, Dr.House, Supernatural, Jericho, The Following, Suits, Blacklist, and The Americans. If your preference is from comedy: How I met your mother, Friends, and Love. If you like antique stories: The Borgias and Reign. If you prefer vampires: The Vampire Diaries, The Originals and TeenWolf. If it is better for you scientific fiction: The 100, The 4400 and The X Files. And it is still possible to find out good surprises like: Touch, Scorpion, Lie to Me and Bloodline.

I know that I can not please you totally. Then, share with me your opinion. Create your own list. But if you did not watch any of these options that I have listed, then try out, because there are many treasures hidden on Netflix.

Why are men as they are?

Men and women are human beings. Though both species are absolutely different. In these two phrases we can not find out anything new. Indeed men and women are different, but why are men like they are? Men seem to believe that they need to be stronger, more violent, more aggressive, as even, never weep, show weakness or accept a dominant woman. Why then? Unfortunately this fact seems to be associated with the form like we have created our boys.
Since the beginning when a boy is born, he hears a lot of contagious phrases like: "Men do not cry!", "Do not be sissy!", "Men works things out fighting!", "If she wants you should not refuse to have sex!", "Say to her that she is hot!", "If he piss you off, beat him!", "You need to be dominant!", "Be strong, do not show weakness!", "She likes to be treated like that!", and a lot of more. Although some families changed considerable during the last years, some part of these phrases still are heard at them. The history show us that men have been trained to be like they are. The men are charged to act like they have acted.
In fact I am not justifying and saying that men are blameless. I am arguing that since childhood the boys are created to be like they are. Even the fact that many families could consider to be making mistakes, they do not perceive the whole issue like a mistake. Seems like a cultural effect with cultural consequences.
Truly we can have facts out of control. Indeed when a man beats a woman, or rape another one, or shoot in other person, we can not justify with these arguments listed. These acts are insane and we can not relate with the education we give to our children. Even with these exceptions, we should not accept how we have created our boys as being common. Frequently boys go to school trying all the time be strongest, coolest and most popular. Then, to sustain that, a lot of violence, bullying and sorrowful consequences have happened.
Nowadays it is proved that men and women can be equal on a lot of situations. We can see women running companies equal or better than men. We can see women driving even better than men. At other hand, we can see men raise a child equal or better than a women, or also managing a house. Then, why do we carry on creating both absolutely differently? Men and women have natural differences. We do not need raise them differently. We need to educate them with the same love, words, examples, values and attitudes. They will be different for themselves.
Summing up, Frankenstein created a monster and was killed by him. It seems to me that we are dying for our own monster. Men should freely weep, be patient, be polite, be dominated or be sissy if he wants. Instead of what we have seen sometimes, it is beautiful see a man being a truly man and not only a reflection of machismo. If you want to go deep into this subject, watch a good documentary called "The mask you live in". It is not because the things were as we saw in the past that they need to carry on.

The books and the technology

Recently, I read about the fact that books could be dying. Although the statistics show us that this can be true, it is a sorrowful situation. Unfortunately for people that love books like me, we are seeing the generations forgetting the importance of the knowledge within the books and exchanging the habits almost in 100%, making searches and queries exclusively on internet. It is a sad finding.
In fact, it is almost unavoidable to use internet and the tools nowadays. I am not arguing if this is totally useless. Instead of that, we should find the information, and they come quickly and efficiently on the internet. Frankly, it is more easy and practical to use this kind of technology.
Why do we need books then? The first argument we need to realize is the fact that books have knowledge written a long the time and have the power to teach and prepare the human beings for life. Are there other forms to have knowledge? Of course. Nowadays we have computers, kindles, tablets, i-Pads, i-Phones and many other devices. Although antique people don't have complete interest in some of them, frankly, they also are absolutely important. At the other hand, I also believe to be a mistake see the original books like worthless things. In my point of view, it is incredible to have some books waiting to be read at your bookcase. It is awesome to know that you can find yourself in one good book. You can learn, imagine, to have emotions, and live some hours without technologies and devices to disturb you.
Undoubtedly, I can imagine the people living in the future without books. Without the pleasure to grab some paper with a lot of good words, smelling the old or new pages and having a great deal of time traveling in long texts. Maybe in the future, we will not have the libraries like we have nowadays, or the opportunity to get in one bookstore and spend long hours reading, searching and looking around inside that magnificent place. Although we also have people carrying books nowadays, this scene seems to be inconstantly than in the past. Actually, it is more common to have people handling electronical devices, even sometimes unaware about the others.
Summing up, we lovers of books, what will we do in the future? Maybe fight to avoid the death of our best friend or surrendering to the new technology. Honestly, we will always feel a lack of  an awesome book and to be hopeful with this new world.

How do you control your mind?

There are many situations in our lives in which we need to try control our minds. The emotions involved in different types of situations offer to our minds a variety of challenges. For example, you may be living unemployed now. In fact, if you are living it now, it’s possible that day after day you have been more upset, stressed and without control of the feelings. How can you put up with the passed situations to control your mind?

Firstly of all it is necessary to understand that the nature of our mind is not the logic. On the other hand, our mind works based on the subjective moments, as if the mind worked more based on emotions than facts.

For example, if you are unemployed now, it is possible to be with lack of confidence. In addiction, it is possible to be suffering with lack of money, resources and hope. How may you rely on yourself? It is a difficult situation where you need to recover the confidence and pursuit the opportunities with new self-assurance.

Secondly, all the happenings seen to our minds the definitely ones, as though we may not change the fate. Instead of that, we need to construct a new reality, trying to convince our minds about new possibilities. You will not be the rest of your life like you are now. You need to reset your mind to believe in new perspectives. Is it easy to do it? Of course that not, but you need to rely on yourself, find out the better form to put up with the uncomfortable situation and grow up a little more in your life and career.

What is the secret then? You need to realize that you will not find a prepared secret to change your mind. Each person is different from another. Otherwise, it is easy to say that the answer to your trouble is in yourself. You need to find out what is the way to recover your confidence. You need to detect what have done you suffer before the unbearable situation get in. And mainly, you need to change something. Otherwise the perspectives will not be so interesting.

Some tips:

1- Find out something that increases your self-confidence and do it.

2- Breathe deeply and relax, all the times that you see yourself losing the control of the situation.

3- Invest your time and money making fruitful things.

4- When you are stressed, do not try to do something important. Otherwise, chill out, listen music and watch a movie. When you have been feeling better, you will be prepared to make decisions.

5- Try to see different points of view to be sure how is the better decision to have.

6- Be patient with yourself. You will not change so fast. In fact, let the time change yourself.

7- Set your mind to develop. Be afraid is one of the biggest problems when you are trying to grow up.

Of course that it is possible to list more solutions for our problems. Like I said before, you need to find out your better ways. Make your own list. Find out your path to be a victorious professional, human being and contributor. Acknowledge about yourself and take the rein of your life.
